R V Life
We’re 12 days from Christmas and I’m sitting here in a fairly remote campground beside my lit Christmas tree. Since we’re in Milton, where we have a storage unit, we were able to pull out the box on top that had our small Christmas tree and the other box nearby had a few strings of lights. I didn’t want to dig around and find ornaments to hang on the tree and then have to put them back after Christmas before we leave so our tree just has lights and I love it. We set it between the passenger and driver’s seat which is in our living room. I love it. I also found a battery operated string of flashing led lights that we put on the inside windshield of the motorhome. It looks great. We are the only decorated motor home in the campground. Of course, there’ s only 2 other campers here, not counting the 2 hosts. But I love it!
I already wrote about it in another blog, but as a reminder, we’re in Milton, FL but we’re not working. We wanted to come back here for the winter, but we had planned on working. The resort we were to work at wasn’t as described so we left. We left, but we stayed in the area. We were at one campground with a month stay limit and are now at another one with a month stay limit. January 3 we report to our next work camping location in Savannah Georgia.
While here, we were able to spend time with our younger son, his wife, and our grandson. We reconnected with some friends we hadn’t seen for a year or two. I got to go to a ladies tea with some ladies I hadn’t seen for a couple years and that was fun. We slid right back into our home church, our Sunday school class, and Life Group almost like we hadn’t been gone.
The electric at our assigned site at the work camping job was bad which caused several things to burn up but since we have a storage unit here in Milton, we were able to replace our TV and microwave with ones we had in storage. Since we are here in Milton, we knew who to call for the other RV needed repairs.
Our car needed extensive repairs. Since we are here we knew where to take it to get it checked out. Since the repairs were extensive, we also knew where to go car shopping and we found a replacement vehicle.
While here I had my scheduled annual physical
These are the things that we take for granted until we go to another state or city where we don’t know who to go to when some sort of service is needed.
We enjoy traveling and enjoyed our last work camping experience. I’m looking forward to touring Savannah and meeting some new people. What I’m not looking forward to is figuring out who to go to if we need something and finding a place to board our dog when we go touring. Although, we have found out that
We’re going to hate to leave our friends here, our family here and our church family. In the meantime, we’re staying busy and enjoying our friends, our family and growing with our church family while we’re here.
Merry Christmas to you all
